Went in to title and register a trailer that I just purchased. Carol was the employee who "assisted me" won't say helped me. She said there was a mistake on the title in regard to vehicle weight (funny that is how fees are calculated). I explained to the employee that it was light weight 1/2 ton towable trailer. She increased the weight and DGVW by citing a paper that she wouldn't show me. I also tried to inform Carol while at the MVD of the correct model number and weight as cited by NADA. When I got home, I looked up trailer registration information on NMSA and called back to speak with the supervisor. I informed her of Chapter 13 of the MVD Rule book, I was told by Becky that the information is outdated and they didn't go by that information anymore???? They charge fees etc. based on that rule book. The law is the law until it is changed by legislature. Furthermore no one there would listen when I tried to give them the correct model number etc. They overcharged me and then advised that I would have to pay an additional fee to have the title corrected. WOW our tax dollars at work...... Both people were very rude. I agree with other reviews....I will go elsewhere from now on. Estancia, Tijeras, anywhere.
I've been calling for the past three days, yet the phone rings and rings, the times are posted when they are open maybe they should pick up the phone for once.
Everyone told me don't go to this office .I found it to have poorly trained staff having been there several times.
These tellers are extremely rude to everyone. Just went in today and as soon as any person goes up to the window they accost each one with questions like they are reviving the inquisition. They treat everyone as if they are morons, and on top of that couldn't even tell people how to obtain "needed" or "correct" documentation. If you can go anywhere else I highly recommend doing so.
Won't even answer the phone!
